This policy explains what information Kitchenine (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit kitchenine.com, why we collect it, and what control you have over it.
1. Who we are
Kitchenine is a kitchen equipment research and buying guide website operated by Ahmad Fawaid, based in Indonesia.
For privacy questions, contact contact@kitchenine.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact form submissions — your name, email address, and message content, so we can reply.
- Newsletter signups, if you subscribe — your email address.
- Comments, if enabled — the name, email address, and content you submit, plus your IP address and browser user agent, which WordPress records to help detect spam.
Information collected automatically
- Standard server logs — IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and timestamps. Our hosting provider records these for security and troubleshooting.
- Analytics data — pages visited, approximate location (country or city level), device type, and how you arrived at the site.
- Cookies and similar technologies — described in section 5.
What we do not collect
We do not collect payment information. All purchases happen on the retailer’s own website, under their privacy policy and their security. We never see your card details, shipping address, or order contents.
3. Why we use this information
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Replying to your messages | Legitimate interest / your consent |
| Delivering the newsletter you asked for | Consent |
| Keeping the site secure and available | Legitimate interest |
| Understanding which content is useful | Consent (analytics cookies) |
| Measuring affiliate referrals | Legitimate interest / consent |
| Meeting legal obligations | Legal obligation |
4. Affiliate links and third-party tracking
This is the part most relevant to a site like ours, so we are being specific.
Kitchenine participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and may participate in other affiliate programs. When you click an affiliate link, the retailer places a cookie on your device to record that the referral came from us. If you then buy something, we earn a commission.
That cookie is set by the retailer, not by us. We do not receive your personal information from Amazon. Our affiliate reports show aggregate data such as items ordered and commission earned — not who ordered them.
Once you leave our site, the retailer’s privacy policy governs your data. We recommend reading Amazon’s privacy notice.
5. Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. This site may use:
- Necessary cookies — required for the site to function, including WordPress session cookies and any cookie consent preference you set. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic and content performance.
- Affiliate cookies — set by retailers when you click a product link, as described above.
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking analytics and affiliate cookies will not prevent you from reading anything on this site.
6. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We do not trade or rent it.
We share data only with service providers that make the site work:
- Hostinger — website hosting and server logs
- Google Analytics — traffic analytics
- Amazon and other affiliate networks — referral tracking, as described in section 4
We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect our legal rights.
7. International transfers
Some of these providers operate servers outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
8. How long we keep data
- Contact form messages — up to 24 months after the conversation ends
- Newsletter subscriptions — until you unsubscribe
- Comments — indefinitely, unless you ask for removal
- Analytics data — per our Google Analytics retention setting, currently [RETENTION_MONTHS] months
- Server logs — per our hosting provider’s retention period
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, request deletion, object to or restrict processing, request a portable copy, and withdraw consent at any time.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request deletion. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@kitchenine.com. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
10. Children
This site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
We use HTTPS encryption, keep software updated, and restrict administrative access. No website can guarantee absolute security, and we do not claim to.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be noted on the site.
